Ruggero Taradel
Ruggero Taradel received his laurea as Doctor in Literature and Philosophy with high honors (cum laude) at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 1992 with the interdisciplinary dissertation Paul Tillich’s Hermeneutics in History of Christianity and Theoretical Philosophy. He was formerly Lecturer in the Division of French and Italian Studies, College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Washington, where he taught courses in Italian Cultural History, Church and State in Italy and Italian Language. He is a member of the Foundation for Religious and Anthropological Research “Alfonso Di Nola”. He was nominated for the Distinguished Teaching Award at the University of Washington in 2010 and has been leading study-abroad programs in Italian Studies and CHID for many years. |
Erin Clowes
Erin earned her M.A. in International Studies through the University of Washington Jackson School in 2008 and serves as Part-Time Lecturer in the Comparative History of Ideas Department, (CHID) teaching courses on CHID study abroad programs. She is committed to creating dialogical learning communities that center Paulo Freire’s critical pedagogy, community-engaged methodologies and feminist theories. Strongly influenced by the work of Edward Said and postcolonial theorists, Erin creates international program projects that both challenge our assumptions and involve community-centered collaborations. She has been involved in CHID study-abroad programs since 1995, beginning in Italy and including Ireland, Germany, South Africa, and Cyprus. |
